Jan Aarntzen
Jan Aarntzen was a Dutch costume and set designer for the theatre. After graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts in Arnhem, he was active as a teacher and director of the Amsterdam Fashion Academy Vogue from 1977 to 1988. He also worked as a costume and set designer. His first independent design was for the performance Bosjes Bloemen (1989) by Karin Bloemen, with whom he collaborated for decades. In addition to Karin Bloemen, he designed costumes and sets for Marjolijn Touw, Purper, Jos Brink, Tineke Schouten, Brigitte Kaandorp, Ashton Brothers, Richard Groenendijk, Släpstick and many others. He received several awards for his work, including the Scheveningen Cabaret Prize for Design in 1996.
