Sacha Seberg
Alexander Slobodjanik (Jr.) is a Russian and American pianist, actor, director, screenwriter, producer and cameraman. The future instrumentalist and filmmaker was born in 1974 into a Moscow musical family and was named after his father, Honored Artist of the RSFSR, pianist Alexander Artemyevich Slobodjanik. Alexander graduated from the Central Music School at the Moscow State Conservatory named after A.I. Tchaikovsky. When the young man turned fourteen, he moved with his family to the United States, where he took part in a competition for young performers and won it. Over the next few years, Alexander toured Europe, the United States, Canada, Russia, Japan, South Africa and South America. In 2001, he recorded his debut vinyl disc. Later, Alexander graduated from the New York Film Academy. Since 2003, the musician has been actively collaborating with the BBC company. Currently, Alexander Slobodjanik continues his musical career, is involved in producing, and is also the owner of a chain of musical instrument stores. In 2000, the musician first tried his hand at acting. He took part in the filming of Gleb Panfilov's historical drama "The Romanovs. The Crowned Family". This was followed by a role in Sergei Bodrov Sr.'s English-language crime film "Let's Do It Quickly". One of the main roles in the film was played by Vladimir Mashkov, the father of his wife Maria Mashkova. After a long break, in 2015, Slobodjanik joined the cast of the Russian-German black comedy "The Penguin of Our Time".
