Lewis Capaldi
Lewis Marc Capaldi, born on October 7, 1996 in Glasgow and raised in Whitburn, West Lothian, is a Scottish singer-songwriter known for his soulful vocals, raw lyrics, and self-deprecating humour. He began performing in pubs at age 11 and gained widespread attention after uploading a song recorded on his iPhone, leading to his discovery by manager Ryan Walter. Capaldi rose to fame with his 2017 single "Bruises" and achieved global success with "Someone You Loved," which topped charts in the UK and US, earned a Grammy nomination, and became one of the most-streamed songs on Spotify. His debut album Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent (2019) was the UK’s best-selling album of the year, followed by his chart-topping second album Broken by Desire to Be Heavenly Sent (2023). Despite his success, Capaldi has been open about his struggles with anxiety and Tourette's syndrome, leading to a touring hiatus after a challenging Glastonbury 2023 performance. He returned in 2025 with the single "Survive," which debuted at No. 1 in the UK. Known for his emotional depth and relatability, Capaldi has also gained acclaim for his Netflix documentary How I’m Feeling Now. He is a cousin of actor Peter Capaldi, supports Celtic FC, and remains a strong advocate for mental health awareness.
