Stephen Davis
Stephen Davis is a playwright, writer and producer born in Glasgow. After emigrating to Australia, he penned his first play, A Very Black Comedy Indeed, when he was 15 and it was published by Queensland's Playlab Press in 1989. Since then, he has been commissioned to write Burnt (2001) for Queensland Theatre Company; Scar for La Boite Theatre; Turtle Island and Wet Dogs (1999) for Barking Gecko Theatre Company; Transzitions (1996), Juice (1998) and Blurred (1999) for Queensland University of Technology; and Burnt (2001) for Central Queensland University. He is also the writer of four feature films: the Australian-Japanese co-production City Loop (2000); Blurred (2002), a film adaptation of his play; the psychological drama Monkey Puzzle (2008); and the 2015 film adaption of his play Drown.
