Mert Yazıcıoğlu was born on May 10, 1993, in Istanbul, Turkey. After completing his primary, middle, and high school education in Istanbul, he enrolled in the Business Administration Department of Istanbul Aydın University. During his studies, he decided to pursue a career in acting and began taking acting classes, eventually leaving his business studies halfway through.
