The wife of test pilot Anton Blysh dies in an accident. In his absence, the doctor - the wife of his friend and understudy Vinogradov - convinces his superiors that Blysh should be removed from the upcoming tests of a new model airplane. However, having returned to work, Anton himself gives the right of supremacy to his friend, an excellent pilot, who has had no luck so far.
